Contributions
To the Friends of Listening Point, here and throughout his writing, Sigurd Olson reminded us that wild places enrich our lives beyond measure. The Listening Point Foundation sparks an interest in preserving wilderness so that it might feed the human spirit today and for future generations. Your contribution at this time will help us educate and empower people to protect what remains of true wilderness.
We were delighted to learn from our recent survey of Listening Point newsletter readers that you emphatically encourage two priorities for the Foundation in the near future. You want us to 1. preserve Listening Point and 2. be more visible and active in continuing Sig's legacy of wilderness education. You told us you want the Foundation to continue its work and do more of it.
Sigurd wrote of the Point, "I must leave it as beautiful as I found it. Nothing must ever happen there that might detract in the slightest from what it now had."
Your contribution will help the Foundation teach and mobilize even more people like yourself - people for whom wild places renew and inspire daily life. Through "A View from Listening Point," our newsletter, we will keep you posted on current programs and initiatives for the coming year. Your contribution to the Listening Point Foundation, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3), is tax deductible as provided by law.
Please help the Foundation spread Sigurd's philosophy of the need for wilderness. As he wrote in Open Horizons, "Only if there is understanding can there be reverence, and only where there is deep emotional feeling is anyone willing to do battle."
